My name is Ton Schuurmans and I was born and raised in the southern part of Holland. As long as I can remember I was always busy with my hands, creating all kinds of things out of an old piece of wood, as well as metal.

All the way through my childhood all kinds of ideas were running through my mind, a lot of them I turned into a piece of furniture or maybe even a go-kart. But always created out of an old piece of wood or metal I’d found behind my father's shed.

After graduating from school back in 1987, I started my career in the Royal Netherlands Air force  as an aircraft engineer; and I spent the next fourteen years maintaining fighter aircraft. But still working with wood and metal was my biggest hobby. It wasn’t a big surprise when I made a career switch in 2001 and I left the Air force to start working for Tribe, one of Holland's leading interior design companies when it comes to interiors for discos, bars  and restaurants. I was in charge of the company workshop, producing many bars, tables, cabinets and much more for the next five years.

In September 2005 I decided to start my own company in carpentry and furniture making. During the day you would find me on building sites, in the evenings, Saturdays and often on Sundays I was busy in my own small workshop fabricating windows, doors and small pieces of furniture. 

After spending our holidays for a couple of years in Brittany, France, we decided to move to one of the most stunning countrysides I’ve ever seen and after less then a year I had registered my company, in order to build a future for us and our four sons.

And still lots of ideas are running through my mind, waiting to be released. Wherever I can use those ideas I am at my happiest.
